Do you need a referral to see a Myotherapist?

No! In most cases, Myotherapist’s do not require a referral from a medical practitioner. However, if the individual is a client of Workcover it is essential to have a written referral from a doctor or case manager.
 

 

What can I expect during my first Myotherapy treatment?

You will be assessed on your presenting complaint through a postural assessment and range of motion testing.
Your therapist will explain their findings and discuss the treatment plan before you hop onto the bed.
After your treatment your therapist will reassess you and then give you home care advice.
 

What should I wear to my Myotherapy Treatment?

You can wear whatever you’re comfortable in. Your therapist will instruct you on how much clothing to remove/ keep on depending on where your complaint is presenting.

NOTE: All therapist leave the room to allow you to undress in private. You will be given an appropriately sized towel to drape yourself. Your therapist will instruct you to which way they would like you to lay on the treatment bed.
 

 

Can I claim my Myotherapy treatment using my Private Health Insurance?

Yes, we have a HICAPS machine in the clinic so you can claim your Myotherapy treatment, just as long as you have either “Remedial Massage or Myotherapy” as part of your extras cover.
 

 

When should I see a Myotherapist?

Whenever, you don’t need to be in pain to see a Myotherapist. You can book anytime you feel you your muscles need some TLC.
